Snare Removal Project
JGI-Uganda has implemented snare removal initiatives in three forest blocks which hold a large part of the chimpanzee population in Uganda.

Uganda Chimpanzee Census
In 1999 JGI-Uganda and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) began a four-year program in collaboration with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and the Uganda Forest Department (UFD) to evaluate the status of wild chimpanzee populations throughout Uganda.

Kaniyo-Pabidi, Budongo Forest Reserve, Eco-tourist Project
A chimpanzee habituation project is being conducted through JGI-Uganda for future eco-tourism activities within Kaniyo-Pabidi, the Budongo Forest Reserve.
