Careers In Primatology

Many people contact JGI to find out about becoming primatologists and ethologists. While we do not hire primatologists or ethologists, we are happy to recommend the following sources of information on careers in these fields:

Primate Info Net features information about primatology, undergraduate and graduate program listings, as well as resources on other careers in ethology (animal behavior) and animal care. It also offers links to web sites of primatology research programs.

For those interested in field work in primatology, Kevin Hunt's Homepage features primer on the subject, written by a researcher of chimpanzee ecology and anatomy.

For information about studing animal behavior, please contact Marc Bekoff of Ethologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals/Citizens for Responsible Animal Behavior Studies

JGI's links page provides more links related to primates and wildlife research.
